The Intensive Seminar on the European Union is a one-, two- or three-week training programme providing professionals with in-depth knowledge and practical skills on EU decision-making and policies. With a focus on latest developments and practice-oriented insights, the seminar aims to improve participants’ professional skills and performance when working on EU affairs. Under ReSPA we offer two options as regards participation: 1. Participation in the complete 3-week course (28 June- 16 July) The first week will provide participants with a comprehensive overview of the EU institutional and decision-making framework. The programme features workshops on information searches and communication skills as well as an introductory visit to the EU institutions. 2. Candidates with already sufficient knowledge of the content delivered in the first week can register to only participate in week 2 and 3 of the programme (5-16 July). The second and third week will focus on EU policy analysis and key reform initiatives. A system of parallel sessions will allow participants to shape their own programme by choosing courses in accordance with their background, interests and professional needs. During hands-on modules organised at the College of Europe in Bruges and the EU institutions in Brussels participants will be able practice EU negotiation and lobbying techniques and enhance their professional skills. Keynote speeches, exercises and panel debates on the challenges ahead for the EU at state complement the programme. Please note that for different reasons my personal opinion is to give preference to the option as described under point 1. Since a separate leaf for the Intensive Seminar 2010 has not been prepared, all information can be found online: www.coleurope.eu/IS2010. For your convenience please find attached the last year's programme which is almost similar to the 2010 programme. |
