ReSPA Supported IDDEEA to Explore Sweden’s Digital Wallet Solutions and to Boost Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Digital Transformation
As part of ReSPA’s Mobility Scheme, a delegation from the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA) undertook a study visit to Sundsvall, Sweden – a country recognised as a pioneer in digital public services.
The visit provided IDDEEA with a unique opportunity to gain firsthand insights into digital wallet solutions and their practical application, directly contributing to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s ongoing digital ID initiatives.
During the mission, the delegation engaged with Sweden’s Bolagsverket (Swedish Companies Registration Office) and DIGG (Agency for Digital Government). Discussions revolved around governance models, inter-agency collaboration, digital standards, and the integration of AI in public administration. The delegation also observed complete digital service processes in action, transforming high-level strategies into clear, actionable takeaways for the institution back home.
The timing of this visit is particularly significant, as the EU is still shaping its digital identity wallet framework, with many open questions and challenges ahead. By connecting with organizations at the heart of EU pilot projects, IDDEEA now has direct access to the latest practices and a platform for continuous exchange of knowledge and experience.
This strategic partnership not only accelerates the design and implementation of secure, EU-aligned digital ID solutions but also strengthens Bosnia and Herzegovina’s broader efforts to fast-track digital transformation and deliver modern, citizen-focused public services.
