Public Administration Awards 2026 Competition Officially Closed with a High Number of High-Quality Applications
The call for applications for the Public Administration Awards 2026, jointly organised by ReSPA and SIGMA, has officially closed, marking the end of another successful competition cycle.
This year's edition attracted 67 applications from public administrations across the Western Balkans, Ukraine, Moldova and Armenia, making it the strongest response since the Awards were launched.
While the formal evaluation process is yet to begin, an initial review already indicates an exceptionally high standard of submissions. The 2026 edition has brought together the largest number of high-quality, innovative and transformative initiatives to date, demonstrating the region's growing commitment to modern, citizen-centred public administration.
The submitted initiatives showcase a wide range of reforms and innovative practices aimed at improving public services, advancing digital transformation, simplifying administrative procedures, strengthening transparency and accountability, fostering inclusion, and delivering tangible benefits for citizens and businesses.
ReSPA and SIGMA extend their sincere appreciation to all institutions and teams that submitted their initiatives. Their commitment to innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement reflects the dedication of public administrations across the region to building more effective, responsive and resilient institutions.
The applications will now undergo a comprehensive evaluation by an independent panel of experts, who will assess each initiative against the competition's established criteria.
The Public Administration Awards recognise outstanding achievements in public sector innovation and provide a platform for sharing successful practices across the region. Beyond recognising excellence, the Awards aim to inspire learning, encourage collaboration and promote solutions that can be adapted and replicated by other public administrations.
ReSPA and SIGMA look forward to announcing the shortlisted initiatives and finalists in the coming months.
