At the Western Balkans Regional Meeting, which will be held on the 21^st-22^nd of October, virtually, OGP and ReSPA are co-organising a Session on Beneficial Transparency on 21 October at 10-11 am CET.    

The session will discuss how the countries in the region are doing proactive transparency by looking into where and how to improve the implementation of access to information laws and policies and practices in opening public data.

In the area of data opening, ReSPA’s expert Ms  Nataša Veljković from the University of Niš, Serbia, will talk about the standardization related to metadata,  the need for interoperability and the application of interoperability, open data portals and their role. Mr Božo Zeba, guest speaker from the State Central Office for the Development of Digital Society of Croatia, will present the developments, achievements and issues with regards to opening up public data in Croatia.
