Western Balkans OGP Regional Meeting
ReSPA and OGP Support Unit, Europe are organizing the Western Balkans OGP Regional Meeting with sessions on 07th and 08th September in Tallinn, Estonia, as the side event of the OGP Global Summit, which will take place on the 06th and 07th of September.
The Meeting will consist of:
- Western Balkans Regional Dialogue Session - OGP Open data, 07th September (two and half hour session)
- Western Balkans OGP Meeting - OGP Global Summit side event, 08th September (all day) which will capture the topics from OGP policy areas identified as of particular interest to the actors from Western Balkans.
The topics that will be elaborated through the panel, breakout sessions, presentations and discussions:
- Digitising the communication channels with citizens
- Anti-corruption
- Climate and Environment
Prominent guests from partner organisations, highly skilled experts, CSOs from Western Balkans and officials with meaningful experience from the EU will shed light on conditions for digitising communication channels with citizens and benefits, results of the anti-corruption measures implementation, intentions and actions for addressing climate through OGP action plans and their thematic synergies across fiscal openness, contracting and the private sector.
The session will provide a forum for discussing progress made in implementing the measures related to open data over the last year as well as the contents of planned measures related to Open data in the upcoming OGP National Plans. The national specific and common obstacles will be discussed with reflection obtained from the good practice in data opening from the EU. The regional session will host the official from OGP IRM to share insights into the achievements and obstacles in implementing measures concerning Open data. Functioning of Open data portals in the region and the problem of ensuring the supply and high-value data sets will be discussed.
Conclusions and recommendations from both meetings will be sought and systematised to be shared with relevant institutions, multi-stakeholder committees, CSOs and other important actors in the OGP domain.
